NBQA Quilt Show 2006Every other year, the NBQA hosts a large quilt show. The quilt show showcases hundreds of member quilts, includes classes, lectures, raffles, vendors and more. Proceeds from the show support the non profit mission of the NBQA. At the 2006 show, a mini/small quilt auction was held with proceeds donated to the New England Quilt Museum in continuation of our support as a charter member of the museum. The New England Quilt Museum, is located in Lowell, Massachusetts. Click the buttons to the left to see pictures of the award winning quilts from the 2006 show. Beverly Fine, a National Quilting Association certified judge, was our quilt judge. Points were awarded in 3 areas as follows: 1. Overall impact = 15 points maximum. 2. Design = 40 points maximum
3. Workmanship = 45 points maximum
Ribbons were awarded according to % of possible points. e.g. if the quilt not have borders but had all other elements, the total possible points would be 95 points. If that quilt scored perfectly in all elements present, that quilt would receive 95 points out of 95 possible points for a score of 100%.
In addition to ribbons, some quilts received additional, special awards.
